Planning
Most people arrive with the pieces already in hand: a will drafted years ago, savings in two or three places, a pension statement they have never really read. What is missing is the part that connects them.
That is the work. For some clients it starts with retirement income, because a date has been set and the paycheque is about to stop. For others the estate comes first, often after watching someone else's get settled badly. Giving tends to come up later, once the rest is steady.
We are independent, so none of this begins with a product. We listen first, build the plan around what you actually want, and choose the tools last. Heidi Blondin is a Certified Financial Planner, working with a team that handles the follow through: paperwork, transactions, and the questions that come up between meetings.
Each of these areas has its own page, with more detail on what is involved:
Where Planning Usually Starts
A first meeting is mostly listening. We want to know what you are saving for, who depends on you, and what would go wrong tomorrow if something happened to you. Nothing gets recommended in that meeting.
From there we look at what you already have in place and where the gaps are. Sometimes the answer is straightforward, like a beneficiary designation that no longer matches the will it was meant to support. Sometimes it takes longer, because retirement income, tax, and estate decisions pull on each other and changing one moves the others.
You will get the reasoning in plain language, not a binder you never open. If a recommendation does not make sense to you, we have not finished explaining it.
